Using HearVine

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the HearVine Android app and website, provided by the HearVine team (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, stop using it. The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.

You must be at least 13 years old, or the higher minimum age required in your location. If you are below the age of legal majority, you may use the service only with a parent or guardian’s permission and involvement as required by law.

The listening experience

HearVine offers Scripture text, audio, curated passages and series, saved content, playback tools, and reminders. Features, translations, recordings, and availability may differ by app version, region, content rights, and network conditions. Some passages may be available as text without audio. Offline access is offered only where enabled and permitted.

No account is required for the current app. Saved content and playback progress are stored locally and are not guaranteed to survive uninstalling, clearing data, changing devices, or device loss. We do not promise cloud synchronization or restoration of locally earned listening access.

Free access and advertising

Free use may include a short daily audio preview and opportunities to unlock additional listening time by viewing ads. The app explains the current access conditions and any daily limits. Access is granted only after the app confirms the required ad event; an unavailable or failed ad may not unlock listening time.

Free listening access does not necessarily remove app-open advertising. Listening allowances, eligible days, and offers may change prospectively. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged for money, and may depend on the device’s local date and app records. We may limit access obtained through manipulation or abuse.

Subscriptions, renewal, and cancellation

Where available, an optional Google Play subscription provides unlimited listening and removes ads while active. Google Play shows the actual price, currency, billing period, any trial or introductory eligibility, and renewal terms before you confirm purchase. We do not sell subscriptions through this website.

• Automatic renewal: subscriptions renew unless you cancel through Google Play. Your Google Play account is charged according to the terms shown at checkout.
• Cancellation: manage your subscription in Google Play → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancellation generally stops the next renewal; access normally continues until the end of the paid period, subject to Google Play’s rules.
• Uninstalling: uninstalling HearVine or deleting app data does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds: refund requests and purchase disputes are handled under Google Play policies and applicable consumer law. Google Play refund information.
• Restoration: eligible purchases may be restored through Google Play using the purchasing Google account. Verification may require a network connection.
• Changes: price or subscription changes are handled through Google Play and any notices or consent required by law.

Scripture and intellectual property

HearVine’s branding, app design, software, and original materials belong to their respective owners. Bible translations, recordings, artwork, and other licensed content remain the property of the relevant rights holders. Their inclusion does not imply endorsement of HearVine.

Subject to these Terms and applicable content rights, you may use the service for your personal, non-commercial listening and reading. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, publicly broadcast, extract at scale, or use protected content to train models without the necessary permission, except where applicable law expressly allows it. Download availability does not grant redistribution rights.

Translation notices include: New International Version © Biblica, Inc.; GOD’S WORD® Translation © God’s Word to the Nations Mission Society; and Holy Bible: Easy-to-Read Version, International Edition © Bible League International. Full notices and applicable rights depend on the edition supplied in the app. The public-domain status of the King James Version varies by jurisdiction. The short Scripture quotations on this website are identified as KJV.

Responsible use

You agree not to interfere with the service, bypass access controls, manipulate subscriptions or ad events, introduce malicious code, use automated tools to overload infrastructure, or use the service unlawfully. Reverse engineering restrictions apply only to the extent permitted by law. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security concerns, or legal requirements.

Third-party services and permissions

Google Play, advertising, messaging, hosting, and external websites are operated by their respective providers and may have separate terms. We do not control external advertisements or websites. Android permissions for reminders and overlays can be managed in device settings. Reminders and playback may be affected by permissions, battery restrictions, connectivity, operating system behavior, or provider outages.

You are responsible for your device, internet access, and any mobile data charges.

Availability and changes

We may improve, update, change, or discontinue features or content, including where rights expire or providers change. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, any particular recording or translation, or error-free text and playback. Where a change materially affects paid access, any rights to notice, cancellation, or refund under applicable law and Google Play policies remain in force.

HearVine supports spiritual reflection and personal study. Content is not professional medical, mental health, legal, or financial advice.

Disclaimers and responsibility

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without additional warranties. We are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, lost local data, or interruptions caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, to the extent the law permits such exclusions.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence where it cannot be excluded, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any non-excludable consumer rights. Statutory guarantees and remedies in your jurisdiction continue to apply.

Ending use and disputes

You may stop using HearVine at any time. You can clear local data or uninstall the app; cancel any active subscription separately through Google Play. We may suspend access for a material breach of these Terms, with appropriate notice where practicable and legally required.

If a concern arises, first use the developer contact details on HearVine’s Google Play listing, when available, so we can try to resolve it. These Terms do not require mandatory arbitration or waive your right to bring a claim before a competent court. Any mandatory laws and consumer protections in your usual place of residence remain applicable.

Updates and contact

We may revise these Terms to reflect service or legal changes. We will update the date above and provide any further notice required by law. Changes do not retroactively remove rights you already have.
